Prepare tax returns for a wide variety of entities, research basic tax issues, learn to read and respond to tax correspondence from the states and the federal government. All done under the direct supervision of managers and partners. Serve as a team member on reviewed Financial Statements. To develop a working knowledge of payroll and sales tax obligations, you will be assigned limited bookkeeping responsibilities. Technical Training is provided both internally and externally through classroom environments. On the job training from mentors and the review of your work happens daily. Senior Accountant: 3 - 6 yearsPrepare more difficult and involved tax returns. Build direct client relationships with clients you are assigned. Become more involved in the tax planning process by working with the managers and partners to identify opportunities. Address the day to day needs of clients. Serve as a mentor for younger staff. Serve as in charge for Reviewed Financial Statement engagements. Develop deeper knowledge base for areas you have particular interest in. This will include maximizing your time spent working with clients in this area, identifying outside training offered, and research materials. Begin to develop your referral network by participating in the community of Colorado Springs. Manager: 6 + yearsMust have obtained CPA certificate. Primarily responsible for maintaining client relations by detailed knowledge of the client's operations, client plans, and client's business objectives. Prepare difficult tax returns. Coordinate the delivery of compliance services to clients by assigning staff, monitoring work and delivery dates, and ensuring the highest quality of work. Review the work of staff and other managers. Continue to develop technical skills to be an expert in these specific areas of interest. Must remain on top of all current developments in the tax services the firm provides. Practice development successes become more important. This includes the development of new relationships as well as maintaining existing clients of the firm. Senior Manager: 8 + yearsSenior managers are to focus on maintaining client relationships and developing new relationships. This will involve active participation in referral networks and the community as a whole. Senior managers will explore their personal and firm expertise to deliver the highest quality services to our clients. Senior managers serve as role models to younger staff. Senior managers will have billing responsibility for clients of the firm for which they have responsibility. They will also have collection responsibility. All senior managers will also serve the office in some administrative capacity, helping the partners maintain a profitable, vibrant environment. |
